In-Office Diagnostic Arthroscopy

Minimally Invasive Fiberoptic Camera
In office diagnostic arthroscopy is a new minimally invasive method of diagnosing many knee and shoulder problems as an alternative to MRI. During a regular office appointment, I can look directly into the joint with a tiny fiber-optic camera using only local anesthetic under the skin. No sedation or other anesthetic is necessary.
During the procedure, the patient can look directly at the screen and also see what is going on in real-time
This has enabled patients to have an immediate diagnosis of problems such as meniscus tears or ACL tears without having to go to through the process of MRI evaluation and another appointment to follow up (which can be a 2 to 3 week process at minimum)
Some insurances may require prior authorization which would necessitate a separate office visit

Dr. Forsythe was my doctor in February 2010. I had knee arthroscopy surgery and was very pleased with the outcome. I was back to playing golf in two months. Dr. Forsythe listens to all your questions and explains them in a manner that is understandable. I highly recommend him as a physician and surgeon.Janet Morelli
